Hellhole “fantasy-horror set in a beautifully dark atmosphere”

I have seen in the last years a lot of good high-quality movies from Poland, the country of “The Witcher” writer, Andrzej Sapkowski. Yet, most of these Polish movies were not science fiction or fantasy. I am still waiting for that breakthrough Polish sci-fi production. The one that will achieve global recognition.

Hellhole is the first Polish fantasy horror movie I have seen. The movie takes place in an uncanny monastery. The atmosphere is beautifully dark and tense. It remembered me a bit of the “Name of the rose” book. The lead character investigates some disappearances. And soon he will discover the lurking dark secret of the monastery.
