Juan of the dead
2011
Juan of the dead is “a good & fun sci-fi movie with zombies … in Cuba”
Directed by Alejandro Brugués
Zombie apocalypse on a large scale. In Cuba! What could be cooler than this? Lots of fun, excitement, and thrills. Juan of the dead really shows the potential of local movie creatives. Thus, I look forward to watching other Cuban sci-fi movies such as the recently released Omega 3. The atmosphere in the movie is fun. For example, the media is referring to zombies as dissidents protesting against the government. The lead character, a laid-back and easy-going person, finds an opportunity to monetize the whole situation. Until things go wrong.
You might need to be open to watching it with subtitles since when I saw the movie there was no audio dubbing available.
